Smith for Shrews tryout

Published Add your comment

Shrewsbury have taken ex-Doncaster goalkeeper Ben Smith on trial.

Smith was released by Rovers at the end of last season having made just 29 appearances in four years and spent time on loan at Lincoln and Morecambe.

Shrews manager Graham Turner told BBC Radio Shropshire: "We need another keeper, whether that's Ben or someone else. He'll be working with the squad so we and Paul Gerrard can take a good look at him."
