Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has admitted Mancheter City’s interest in Fernando Torres is concrete.
Redknapp’s Spurs side just edged City out of a place in the Champions League place last season but the former West Ham boss has admitted they have an uphill task to beat the Eastlands club again.
Redknapp told Talksport: “Manchester City could quite easily win the Premier League. If they get the players in now, they've already got the nucleus of a good team.
“They're in for Torres - and if they end up getting him and one or two others then they can do anything.
"It's going to make it even harder to make the top four again next season, that's for definite," he added.
Redknapp himself is busy trying to build a squad capable of holding it’s own in the Champions League and is still not giving up hope of luring Joe Cole to White Hart Lane.
Previously he had stated Cole had already joined another club, but that turned out not to be the case and could still spearhead Spurs’ midfielder next season.
Redknapp added: “I think there's a good chance [that we can sign him]. A few weeks ago I really felt that Joe maybe had decided to go somewhere else.”
