Jackett admits Carter enquiry

Published Add your comment

Millwall boss Kenny Jackett has made an enquiry about the possibility of signing Darren Carter from Preston.

The midfielder was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season and Jackett is hoping to speak to North End boss Darren Ferguson about a move in the near future but fellow midfielder Adam Bolder appears to be on his way out of the club, with a move to Gillingham being rumoured as a possible destination.

"He (Carter) is a proven Championship player - we have made an enquiry about him," Jackett told the South London Press. "Preston's manager is currently away at a training camp but I have been told he is due back at some stage this weekend so I hope to hear from him in the coming days."

On Bolder, Jackett added: "It looks as if he will move on."
