Scunthorpe midfielder Ian Morris is to join npower League Two side Chesterfield on a season-long loan.

The former Leeds player, 23, enjoyed a two-month loan spell at Saltergate last season, making seven appearances.

The Spireites had wanted Morris to stay for the remainder of last season following his initial loan spell but the Iron needed him as cover for injuries.

The former Republic of Ireland U21 international, who joined from Leeds for an undisclosed fee in 2006, has made 92 appearances in all competitions for Scunthorpe, scoring eight goals.
