Saints swoop for Butterfield

Southampton have completed the signing of free agent Danny Butterfield on a one-year deal.

The 30-year-old full back, who can also play in midfield, was released by Crystal Palace at the end of last season after eight years at Selhurst Park.

Butterfield has already joined up with the rest of the Saints squad on their pre-season tour of Switzerland.
