Arsenal are being linked with a late bid for French striker Loic Remy.

The Nice forward has been the subject of a bidding war between a string of clubs this month, although Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has remained relatively quiet on the situation.

Frenchman Wenger was heavily linked with Remy in January, with the Nice forward admitting that a move to the Emirates would be his preference should he leave the Stade Municipal du Ray.

Remy has been more diplomatic of late though, with Liverpool, Spurs and Lyon all battling favourites West Ham United for the player's signature.

Recent reports suggested that the Hammers had increased their offer, and were on the verge of completing a €13.5 million deal for the former Lyon youngster.

However, French paper Le Parisien reports that the Gunners are ready to make a last ditch move for the international hitman, with Wenger looking to strengthen his attacking options after the departure of Croatian forward Eduardo.

Les Aiglons are eager to earn as much as possible from the player sale, and will welcome news that the north London club are again interested in bringing the protege to the Premier League.
