Preston have signed goalkeeper Andreas Arestidou on a one-year-deal following a successful trial.

The England youth international has been at Deepdale for the past fortnight, featuring in North End's 3-1 victory over Chorley last Friday. After joining Preston on a free transfer, Arestidou told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to sign the deal."

The 20-year-old began his career with Blackburn at the age of 11 before moving to Shrewsbury at the start of the last campaign.

He added: "I was out of contract this summer so I was really looking forward to getting the chance to come on trial at Preston.

"I wanted to do really well and hopefully I have done that now. I'm quite lucky in getting a deal here, but this is an opportunity for me to push on."
