Former Kop hero advises Liverpool ace to leave

Liverpool favourite Xabi Alonso has been busy urging young striker Daniel Pacheco to leave Anfield and join Real Sociedad.

Pacheco, who has helped Spain’s under 19 side into the final of the European Championships, believes his first team opportunities will be limited on Merseyside.

The former Barcelona academy ace signed a new three-year contract only last August but Sociedad have declared their interest in bringing him back to Spain and it seems his head has been turned.

Pacheco told the Daily Mail: “Playing for Sociedad appeals to me. I have heard good things about the club, the city and the people.”

Former Sociedad star Alonso, who played for the club for five years prior to joining Liverpool, has been singing the club’s praises.

“[Alonso] has been helping and advising me. I've been told good things about the coach. They say he bets on youngsters who have character."
