Sheffield United striker Darius Henderson requires another hamstring operation and will be out for around four months.

The 28-year-old missed the final two games of last season after suffering the injury during the Sheffield derby at Hillsborough in April.

He had returned to pre-season training but was unable to regain full fitness and will undergo surgery on Tuesday. Henderson is the third serious injury blow of the summer for United following the loss of new signing Simon Walton (cruciate ligament) and Lee Williamson (back)."Losing an important member of the squad like Darius is a blow and we wish him well with his rehabilitation," Blades boss Kevin Blackwell told the club's official website.

"Our squad is not the biggest in terms of quantity but we have other quality forwards who are keen to find the target in the early-season matches."
