West Ham are reportedly set to sign Italy keeper Federico Marchetti - should Robert Green be sold to Fulham.
The Gunners are also after Cagliari goalie Marchetti, as Arsene Wenger looks to find a more reliable alternative to Manuel Almunia.
Cagliari president Massimo Cellio told Sport Italia last week: “The only real club that is pushing for his signature is Arsenal.”
Marchetti, 27, was handed an unexpected role during the World Cup after injury to Italy regular Gianluigi Buffon forced him into action. The former Torino gloveman was kept in place for the final two group games, and conceded four goals as the Azzuri crashed out of the tournament.
The Vincenza born goalkeeper has been linked with a move to the Emirates throughout the summer, as have Russia number one Igor Akinfeev and Holland first choice Martin Stekelenburg.
