Tykes still waiting on Argentine striker

Published Add your comment

Barnsley could start the season without new signing Jeronimo Morales Neumann.

The Argentinian striker signed a one-year deal after arriving on a free transfer from Estudiantes last week, but his paperwork has yet to be finalised. The Tykes take on QPR in their opening game of the npower Championship season on Saturday, and director Don Rowing remains hopeful Neumann will be available for selection.

"We have signed him and he is registered but we are waiting for his paperwork to be ratified," said Rowing to the Sheffield Star.

"Hopefully we will get clearance for him over the next couple of days."
