Manchester United still have a chance to sign German international Piotr Trochowski.
Trochowski started his career at Bayern Munich, making his debut in 2003 for the Bundesliga giants. Chances were limited however, and in 2005 the Polish-born player made the switch to Hamburg.
After five years at the club, Trochowski is thought to be considering his future, and with only one year left on his contract HSV could look to cash-in on the player or risk losing him for free next summer.
Speaking specifically on the link to United, Trochowski's agent told paper Morgenpost: "Trochowski is a Hamburg player. He has a contract with the club. I do not intend to make any (further) statement (on this link)."
With over 150 appearances in the German top flight, Trochowski has plenty of experience in one of the top European leagues. With opportunities set to be limited next season, a bid from the Red Devils could be enough to tempt the player away from his nation.
