Chelsea target Bosnia international

Chelsea are hoping that a renewed bid for Asmir Begovic will tempt Stoke into selling their young goalkeeper, according to the Daily Mail.

Begovic only joined the Potters in January, after impressing standing in for David James at Portsmouth, for around £3.25 million but has intimated that he would like the chance to move to Chelsea.

The Bosnian made his debut for Stoke against the Blues, replacing first choice Thomas Sorensen in the 35th minute, and conceded five goals as his team were demolished 7-0.

However, that has not deterred the Premier League champions, who want to further strengthen their keeping options and add to Petr Cech, Ross Turnbull and Hilario.

Carlo Ancelotti is ready to make an improved £4.5 million offer for Begovic, despite Tony Pulis’ insistence he will not sell.
