Reuben Reid and Jon Macken are poised to make their Walsall debuts against Plymouth.
The duo arrived at the Banks's Stadium on Thursday afternoon to bolster boss Chris Hutchings' attacking options.
Winger Reid, 22, has joined on a five-month loan deal from midlands neighbours West Brom, while veteran striker Macken has signed a one-year contract.
Darren Byfield and Steve Jones are most likely to make way for the new arrivals.
Ryan McGivern and Oliver Lancashire returned to the Saddlers' defence for the 2-1 win at Brentford last weekend and will retain their places in the starting XI.
Hutchings has a fully-fit squad at his disposal and will be hoping his side can improve on their poor home form so far this season, following defeats against MK Dons in League One and Tranmere in the Carling Cup.
Plymouth manager Peter Reid is sweating over the fitness of Craig Noone and Reda Johnson ahead of Saturday's trip to Walsall.
Midfielder Noone picked up an injury in training but is expected to be fit for the clash at the Banks's Stadium.
However, defender Johnson is struggling to be in contention. The Benin international has not trained this week, which could pave the way for 17-year-old Curtis Nelson to receive a first-team opportunity.
Nelson impressed for the reserves in midweek and Reid singled him out for praise.
The Argyle boss said: "Nelson was terrific and he is with us all the time now. He has handled training really well and he will definitely be in the squad [for Walsall]."
