Rotherham boss Ronnie Moore praised hot-shot Adam Le Fondre whose four-goal haul overturned a 3-1 deficit to help beat visiting Cheltenham 6-4.

Le Fondre scored his first in the 16th minute to level the scores at 1-1 before netting twice in the space of three second-half minutes. His fourth was a cool right-footed strike just after the hour which finally put the Robins out of reach.

Moore said: "We showed a lot of spirit especially as one or two players were not on their, game, though Adam Le Fondre was just magnificent. He was absolutely unplayable and some of his goals were fantastic.

Jeff Goulding, Wes Thomas, Shaun Jeffers and Keith Lowe netted for Cheltenham, but they had no answer to Le Fondre whose goals were added to by Danny Harrison and Ryan Cresswell.

However Moore still found time to be critical of his side's defending.

"You can't defend the way we defended. It was unacceptable for us, but give them credit, because I bet it was a great game to watch, though it certainly wasn't a great game for me to watch.

"We showed a bit of character. We got the goals at just the right time and we had a good start to the second half."

Despite scouts being in the stand, Moore said he is not worried about Le Fondre leaving.

"We have a chairman who doesn't need the money,'' he said.

"Le Fondre won't go anywhere. He is contracted here and hopefully he'll get us out of this division."
