With Sebastien Squillaci looking likely to move to Arsenal, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has turned his attentions to Roma defender Juan, according to Sky Sports.

Squillaci will move to North London later on this week, with Sevilla holding out for the best possible price they can get for their French defender.

And with Laurent Koscielny already signed from Lorient, Wenger is eyeing his third central defender of the summer in Brazilian Juan.

William Gallas, Mikael Silvestre, Sol Campbell and Philippe Senderos all left the Emirates at the end of last season, leaving them with just Johann Djourou and Thomas Vermaelen as first team centre halves.

With Djourou injured, that position has become an urgent priority for Arsenal and they are now finalising a couple more additioins.

Another possibility for the Gunners manager is another Frenchman in Bordeaux’s Michael Ciani.
