Tottenham have set their sights on yet another former Arsenal player just days after concluding a deal for William Gallas, according to the Mirror.
The player in question is Lassana Diarra, who Spurs boss Harry Redknapp know well, having brought him from the Emirates to Portsmouth in 2008.
Diarra is currently at Real Madrid, who have admitted they are now looking to offload a number of players – having been on a Jose Mourinho spending spree.
Central midfielders are the first to face the chop and the two Diarras – Lassana and Mahamadou – have already reportedly been offered to a number of Premier Legaue sides.
The defensive midfielder will not come cheap, though, as Madrid will want to recoup as much of the £20 million they paid Pompey for him just two years ago.
Despite impressing Mourinho during pre-season, reports are abound that Diarra has been placed on the transfer list, along with the likes of Rafael van der Vaart and Royston Drenthe.
Spurs have been linked with a move for West Ham vice-captain Scott Parker this summer but, with the 29-year-old on the verge of signing a new contract, Redknapp has been forced to look elsewhere.
