Liverpool and West Ham target David Trezeguet has set his heart on a move to Italian side Lazio, but would be happy to join La Liga newcomers Hercules.
Trezeguet has been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool this week but his agent is banking on a move to Serie A, although Spanish side Hercules are waiting for an answer.
It was previously thought Trezeguet would make a decision by the end of the week, and Antonio Caliendo has put a deadline of Friday on Lazio’s response – otherwise he will move to Spain.
Caliendo told L aziolalaziosiamonoi.it: “We’ll wait for Claudio Lotito (Lazio’s President and owner) until midday on Thursday. If it’s meant to be, then it will happen.
“I haven’t heard from Lotito in over 48 hours. We are prepared to wait a few hours longer, but no more, as the Spanish side Hercules are expecting our response.
“There will be an important meeting at midday. If we don’t hear from Lazio, it means the move will not go through,” he added.
Roy Hodgson had hoped to pair the former French international with Fernando Torres, but it is looking unlikely now.
West Ham had also expressed an inbterest, along with Aston Villa, West Brom and Spanish side Real Zaragoza but Lazio are late-comers into negotiations.
