Tottenham look set to miss out on Holland striker Klass-Jan Huntelaar after AC Milan confirmed they are in negotiations with Barcelona regarding a possible swap deal.

Reports in the Mirror had suggested that Milan would be willing to let their Dutch frontman go to Spurs in order to fund a £33 million move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

However, president Adriano Galliani has revealed Barca are willing to compromise on price if former Real Madrid striker Huntelaar is thrown into the deal.

He said: “It's a long road ahead, I'd say the chances of Milan signing Ibrahimovic are 50%. We're discussing Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and personal terms.

"At this point the two clubs are working towards a definitive sale. There will be no loan deal.

"I would like to make it clear that Marco Borriello is not for sale, but we are negotiating over Huntelaar.

“Up until now I have not had direct contact with the player. I'm going to see him now. Robinho is the alternative to Ibrahimovic, but we want the Swedish striker,” he added.
