Avram Grant called for his team to be judged after 15 games not the current three, all of which West Ham have lost.
And, with Chelsea to come after the international break, he needs to get his message across to the fans as some are beginning to doubt the wisdom of the chairmen in appointing him their manager.
The Hammers boss also said he had never known such a difficult start to the season for any team, with his side having to play four of the top six teams from last season as opposed to Chelsea who have played, Wigan, West Brom and Stoke with Blackpool to play after their trip to Upton Park.
While I understand that every team finished below Chelsea last season I think I know what opening set of games West Ham fans would have preferred.
So if the opening fixtures are not hard enough he also has to deal with the transfer window closing and the possible, enforced, loss of two of his best players in Carlton Cole and Scott Parker.
The well documented financial problems at Upton Park could play a part in these potential departures, as they are possibly the only players that West Ham could sell for a large enough fee to enable replacements to be found and bank some money to pay off our large debt.
Parker is the one player who the co-chairman David Sullivan said was not for sale, only for them to back track slightly when the said at the start of the season that if someone offered "silly money" then they would listen.
I for one would like to see the transfer window close on the opening day of the season thus enabling teams like West Ham to prepare properly for the coming games not having to chop or change the team to accommodate new players or players that leave the club.
The pressure on Grant grows with every defeat and, with the next set of games no easier than the first three, you can understand his comments.
