Tranmere have completed the loan signings of Coventry defender Jermaine Grandison and Derby midfielder Arnaud Mendy.

Centre-back Grandison, 19, progressed through Coventry's youth system before making his first team debut in April 2009.

Rovers boss Les Parry said: "I'm pleased to be able to bring in players of Jermaine and Arnaud's quality."

Mendy, also 19, signed for Derby from French side Rouen in 2008 before making his first-team debut last October.

He spent time on loan at Grimsby last season and both players have signed one-month loan deals, making them available for Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie at home to Accrington.

Parry added: "Injuries to Nick Wood, Paul McLaren and Joss Labadie leave us a little short at the moment, so Jermaine and Arnaud will fill those gaps with a bit of quality. I'd like to thank Coventry manager Aidy Boothroyd and Derby manager Nigel Clough for allowing their players to come to us on loan."
