Scunthorpe are without Garry Thompson and Jim McNulty for the home clash with Bristol City.

Winger Thompson remains sidelined after being ruled out for up to two months due to a groin injury.

On-loan Brighton left-back McNulty sustained an ankle injury in the recent 2-0 defeat at QPR and was originally ruled out for three to four weeks.

The injury has healed quicker than expected but this weekend looks almost certain to come too soon for the former Stockport man.

The Iron have no other concerns as they bid to claim their third win from five matches.

Danny Rose`s City debut has been put on hold due to an injury sustained while on international duty.

The on-loan Tottenham winger, signed on Thursday, will miss the trip as he recovers from an ankle problem picked up while playing for England Under-21s. He is likely to feature against Watford on Tuesday.

Striker Danny Haynes and defender Lewin Nyatanga are close to making first-team returns but are lacking match sharpness and unlikely to make the clash at Glanford Park.

But, otherwise, manager Keith Millen has as close to a fully-fit squad as he has had all season.

Captain Louis Carey (heel) is likely to return to the centre of defence while midfielder Cole Skuse (knee) is back in the fold having missed the 2-0 defeat at Ipswich last time out.
