Boden earns Spireites point: Match Review

Published Add your comment

Substitute Scott Boden earned Chesterfield a point with a late leveller in a 1-1 draw against bottom-club Morecambe at the Globe Arena.

Boden had missed a glorious opportunity just a few moments later but brushed himself down to fire past Barry Roche after the Morecambe defence had failed to clear a loose ball.

Morecambe, still looking for their first win of the campaign, took the lead after 25 minutes when debut boy Scott Brown latched on to Stewart Drummond's flick on to score from 12 yards out.

Both sides had chances to win the game with Morecambe almost snatching it at the death when Jimmy Spencer's shot was cleared off the line by Simon Ford.
