Preston boss Darren Ferguson has injury and suspension worries ahead of the home clash with Nottingham Forest.

Defender Billy Jones was sent off for two bookable offences in Saturday`s dramatic 4-3 defeat at Burnley and serves a one-match suspension.

On-loan Manchester United youngsters Josh King and Matt James also picked up knocks and may be forced to miss out.

In a further blow, Paul Coutts also limped off with a groin strain at Turf Moor and is doubtful.

Ferguson said of Saturday`s damaging defeat: "The injuries killed us. It was a cruel result but that is the way things go sometimes.

"How we have got four defeats this season, I don't know. But it's a results-based business so we need to start picking up."

Forest manager Billy Davies has one injury doubt for the trip to his former club.

Striker Robert Earnshaw picked up a slight hamstring injury in the draw with Millwall at the weekend and is a concern ahead of the Deepdale encounter.

Paul Anderson, who replaced Earnshaw on Saturday, will start if the Wales international is ruled out.

Full-back Chris Gunter is back in contention for a starting place after completing a three-match ban and may replace on-loan Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand.

Dexter Blackstock's late goal at the weekend is likely to keep him in the team despite his penalty miss and after four consecutive 1-1 draws, Davies may be tempted to field more firepower in order for his side to pick up their first win of the season.
