Marin caps Bremen fightback

Tottenham threw away a two-goal lead as they were given a dramatic introduction to life in the Champions League, drawing 2-2 at Werder Bremen.

Spurs belied their status as rookies at this level by taking a deserved stranglehold in the game through a Petri Pasanen own goal and a contender for goal of the season from Peter Crouch.

But a crazy four-minute spell either side of half-time saw Bremen level through goals from Hugo Almeida and Marko Marin before both teams wasted glorious chances to win it.
