Oxford manager Chris Wilder has agreed a new three-year contract with the club.

Wilder was appointed to the Kassam Stadium hotseat in December 2008 and guided the U's back into the Football League last season. They have made a solid start to life in League Two, which has seen Wilder and his backroom staff rewarded with new deals, keeping them at the club until 2013.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity I have been given here," Wilder told the club's official website. "It is a very high profile job so I thank the chairman and the club for the confidence shown in me."

He added: "I am enjoying what we are doing here, am surrounded by fantastic staff and people at the club and if we keep working hard we hope to be able to continue to make progress."

Chairman Kelvin Thomas added: "I am really pleased Chris is committed to the football club. I think we have an excellent working relationship and hope Chris can continue the success he has already begun to build here."
