Burton could be without the services of Darren Moore for the visit of Crewe to the Pirelli Stadium.
Moore was sent careering into the advertising boards last weekend and the former WBA and Barnsley centre-half is struggling to recover from sore ribs and cuts and bruises to the back and side.
Former Crewe players Adam Legzdins and Ryan Austin will be hoping to get one over the old team-mates.
Austin is in contention to start as Moore's deputy after getting through 90 minutes on his return to first-team duty last weekend following a 10-month lay-off from knee surgery.
Paul Boertien and Aaron Webster could recover from a calf strain and tight hamstring respectively but Richard Jackson and Adam Boulder (dislocated shoulder) will again miss out.
Crewe manager Dario Gradi is expected to name an unchanged starting XI.
Alex are in confident mood following last weekend`s 3-0 win over Bury and Calvin Zola and Matt Tootle, both replaced during that game, have responded well in training.
Gradi told the club`s official website: "We have no new injuries so that is good. We don't want to tempt fate but things are looking good at the moment.
"It has been a good week in training, Calvin has trained with us all week and we are looking forward to the game.
"We only have the two long-term injured with Steve Phillips and Carl Martin and we've had a good week in training so we'll go there feeling confident."
