Barnsley midfielder Hugo Colace is hoping to prove his match fitness this week in a bid to return to the squad for next weekend's clash at Reading.

The Argentinian, who has missed the last three games due to a calf injury, is scheduled to appear for the reserves on Wednesday.

Manager Mark Robins said: "He's fine now and I'll be pleased to get him back in the squad for the next game. But he's going to have to have a run-out on Wednesday because he's missed three weeks' training."

Robins also revealed defender Luke Potter could soon be back in first-team action after undergoing minor knee surgery last month.

He added: "He should be fine as well for next week. He's right at the end of his rehab but it's only been three weeks since his operation, so we're expecting that within the next seven days he's going to be back with us."
