Liverpool and Manchester United target Lassana Diarra has insisted he is happy at Real Madrid and is not looking to move on in January.

Diarra has been the subject of recent speculation that he was on his way out of the Bernabeu and he could make a return to the Premier League.

Manchester United have been heavily linked to the former Arsenal and Chelsea ace, due to the fitness of Owen Hargreaves and questions over Michael Carrick’s quality.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have also been linked as they prepare to sell Lucas Leiva and bring in a replacement in the coming window.

United had been thought to have the advantage over their Anfield rivals due to Madrid’s asking price being around the same as they brought him for - £20 million.

Sir Alex Ferguson has plenty of money to spend in January and is thought to be considering targets already.

Meanwhile, Liverpool have already signed Christian Poulsen and Raul Meireles in the holding midfield position so are pretty much covered despite losing Javier Mascherano last month.

And Diarra rejected talk of a move away from the Spanish capital and his determination to break back into Jose Mourinho's team.

Diarra told the Daily Mail: “I have no comment to make. I am a Real player and all I want to do is to play week in, week out at this club.”
