Manchester United are planning a sensational swoop for former midfielder Cristiano Ronaldo, according to reports in Spain.
Ronaldo left United three transfer windows ago for £80 million but has reportedly had a difficult season last term.
And now Sir Alex Ferguson is readying a 100 million euro (£86 million) offer to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford according to Goal.com Spain.
A move for the Portugal skipper would shock the Premier league, as the Red Devils dominated the division whilst he was with the club, but it remains highly unlikely.
When he signed for Madrid, the Bernabeu club slapped a 1 billion euro minimum release clause on his head and would be ulikely to let him leave for such a small profit.
The 25-year-old scored 26 lesague goals in just 29 last campaign and has impressed this year, despite an indifferent start for the team as a whole.
After Madrid beat Espanyol 3-0 in the club’s third game in just six days, sporting director Jorge Valdano praised the ‘complete’ Ronaldo.
“Ronaldo's performance was complete. He featured in every dangerous play and proved he has a great personality,” he said.
