Liverpool ace tipped for Anfield exit

Denmark defender Daniel Agger is being linked with a move to Inter Milan.

According to the Daily Mail, the Liverpool ace is the subject of interest from ex-Anfield boss Rafa Benitez; who is thought to be keen to link up with one of his former charges.

Agger has been in the news recently over reports that he criticised Liverpool's style of play under Roy Hodgson.

However, the 25-year-old has moved to quickly deny the alleged comments - claiming he was mis-quoted by a Danish newspaper.

"What came out was 100 percent wrong and that is why I am very disappointed," he told the official Liverpool website.

"The journalist asked me what I needed to do to get back into the team and suggested I should start hitting more long balls.

"I said I wouldn't do that because I'm not that kind of player. That's where that quote came from. I actually think we play good football."

Despite refuting these claims, Agger is supposedly frustrated at Anfield after being displaced in the Liverpool starting line-up by new recruit Paul Konchesky.

It is thought that Benitez will step up his interest in the former Brondby stopper in January, with a fee in the region of €9 million said to be enough to gain his signature.
