Torquay manager Paul Buckle has only one injury doubt ahead of the home clash against Macclesfield.

Mark Ellis faces a late fitness test on a foot injury picked up in last week's 0-0 draw with Stevenage. The Gulls will reassess the situation in training before making a decision whether to include the defender in the squad.

Striker Elliot Benyon scored in the reserves this week and is back in contention to start again after recovering from a niggling knee injury.

Billy Kee is knocking on the door for a starting place up front and Martin Gritton may drop to the bench having not scored this season.

Danny Senda could make his comeback from injury but only as a substitute.

Macclesfield boss Gary Simpson is still without the services of striker Ricky Sappleton.

Sappleton remains sidelined with a knee injury but midfielder Richard Butcher is edging closer to fitness after a similar complaint.

Shaun Brisley is looking at the possibility of a hernia operation and is a doubt, while Paul Bolland is almost certain to miss out with a groin strain.

However, Vinny Mukendi is expected to be passed fit after a knee injury as the Silkmen bid to bounce back from last weekend's 3-0 home defeat against Port Vale.

Macclesfield lie third bottom of npower League Two but an upbeat Simpson said: "A couple of wins will see us back in the mix."
