Anthony Gerrard has pledged to play to play through the pain for Hull.

The 28-year-old defender, who joined on a season-long loan from Cardiff, has a calf injury that may eventually require surgery.

However, Gerrard insists he is going to suck it up in order to play for Nigel Pearson's side. "People work 12 or 14 hour shifts so if I can bear a little pain or do certain things then that's what I've got to do," he told BBC Radio Humberside.

Gerrard added: "Certain things I do are painful but we get paid a lot of money to kick a bit of leather around."
