Craig Dawson's second-half strike extended Rochdale's unbeaten run in a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Plymouth at Spotland.

Bradley Wright-Phillips fired the visitors ahead in the 18th minute following a defensive mix up in the Rochdale six-yard box. Goalkeeper Josh Lillis came to collect Kari Arnison's long throw but was blocked off by his own defender Josh Thompson and Wright-Phillips struck a low drive through a crowd of bodies and into the net.

Gary Jones sent a curling effort just wide of the upright soon after, but the Pilgrims could have doubled their advantage before half-time when Reda Johnson's effort was cleared off the line by Marcus Holness.

Onismor Bhasera forced a good save from Lillis just after the break as Plymouth dominated, before Jones had Rochdale's first effort on target, beaten away by Roman Larrieu.

The hosts were level after 65 minutes, though, when Jason Kennedy squared for Dawson and he fired home from 10 yards.

Kennedy's cross-shot and Chris O'Grady's stinging drive almost handed Rochdale the lead as momentum swung towards the hosts.

Lillis pulled off a fine saves to keep out Wright-Phillips' effort after a slip by Dawson and later tipped Craig Noone's curling shot onto the crossbar as it ended all square.
