Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner will check on the availability of Sean McAllister ahead of the home clash against Torquay.
The midfielder was ruled out for around a week having been forced off early in last Saturday`s 2-2 draw at Wycombe, duly missing the 1-0 defeat at leaders Port Vale on Tuesday.
Turner is unlikely to take any risks with McAllister`s fitness, though, and will assess his condition ahead of the visit of a Torquay side winless in six matches in all competitions. Kevin McIntyre will again featured if required.
Lionel Ainsworth returned at Vale Park after being rested due to a groin strain and he should again feature.
Defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff also started in midweek after winning his battle to recover from a dead leg and, again, is expected to start on Saturday.
Torquay are set to be boosted by the return of fit-again central defender Mark Ellis as they seek to bounce back from two home defeats.
Ellis has recovered from a foot injury that forced him to miss Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Macclesfield and kept him on the bench throughout Tuesday's 1-0 loss to Aldershot.
Midfielder Damon Lathrope (ankle) debuted in the game against the Shots but was forced to leave the field during the early stages.
Lathrope was replaced by Wayne Carlisle but returning skipper Nicky Wroe is expected to take Lathrope's place in the starting XI on Saturday.
Torquay have not won in five league matches with their last victory coming on August 28 when they secured an away win at Port Vale.
