Southend midfielder Anthony Grant has shaken off an ankle injury and will be included in the squad for the home game with Lincoln.

Grant was replaced in the second half by new loan signing Nat Jarvis in midweek after sustaining a knock but returned to full training on Thursday.

Jarvis is hoping to make his first full appearance for the club after his recent arrival on loan from Cardiff. He has stepped off the bench in the previous two matches.

Skipper Craig Easton, hoping to return to training later this month, is still sidelined with a calf problem.

Mark Phillips and Sofiene Zaaboub are back with the first-team squad following their respective injuries but are not yet match fit.

Southend, 14th in the table, are hoping to close the gap on the top six with their second home league win of the season.

Adifane Noussoura will not be part of the Lincoln squad despite receiving international clearance.

First-team coach Scott Lindsey, taking charge for the first time following the resignations of manager Chris Sutton and his assistant Ian Pearce earlier this week, has confirmed the midfielder will get some much-needed match action in the reserve game against Scunthorpe on Tuesday.

Lindsey is also without Paul Green (thigh) and Andy Hutchinson (foot) while club captain Scott Kerr completes his three-match ban.

Sutton and Pearce left for personal reasons after the goalless draw with Burton in midweek with the Imps sitting in 20th place in the table after a disappointing start to the season, having picked up only two wins from nine games.
