Charlie MacDonald could return to the Brentford side for the visit of Oldham.

The striker has missed the last three matches with an ankle injury but is close to fitness.

MacDonald may replace Nicky Forster, who needs a groin operation, while fellow forwards Carl Cort (Achilles) and Robbie Simpson (hamstring) are still missing.

Goalkeeper Richard Lee expects to find himself back on the bench despite his latest penalty shoot-out exploits.

Lee repeated last month's Carling Cup heroics against Everton as Brentford squeezed past Leyton Orient in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night, but he accepts he is currently the club's "cup keeper" with Ben Hamer set to return.

Karleigh Osborne, Michael Spillane and Myles Weston were rested in midweek.

Oldham boss Paul Dickov will be without a trio of players on international duty.

The players ruled out are Warren Feeney, Kirk Millar and Rodrigue Dikaba, who are on duty with Northern Ireland, Northern Ireland Under-19s and DR Congo respectively.

The Latics could have called off the game at Griffin Park but Dickov says that would have been unfair on fans who had booked weekends in London.

He also said a rearranged game on a Tuesday night would have caused further inconvenience.

Reuben Hazell is back after serving a one-match ban while Cedric Evina, an 18-year-old left-back signed from Arsenal on a month's loan this week, is named in the squad for the first time.
