Thousands of Shakers join the car park rally

Shakers commercial manager Peter Young together with marketing manager Laura Sherratt, presented a near 1,000 signature petition directly to officials at Bury Town Hall.

It is with the same bulldog spirit of Churchill's famous fight them on the beaches speech that the club epitomises.

This really is an amazing achievement after just over a week of canvassing and campaigning, and adds to the hundreds of online letters, Facebook supporters, and snail mail letters that have been handed into the Council.

It is an attempt for the football club to ensure that fans can secure parking close to the ground without having to deal with the busy A58 Manchester Road, or run the gauntlet of overzealous parking attendants.

All football grounds have this problem any many of the issues are exasperating at least when you consider that kick-off times are varied to suit Sky, ESPN etc.

Normally, kick off times do not conflict with busy commuter or resident’s periods yet are still ludicrously enforced.
