Further transfer rumours are surrounding Arsenal since Arsene Wengers sensational news at the annual general meeting that the North London club have money to spend in January transfer window.
“We have still resources available to bring one or two players in if needed in January,” the Gunners manager proclaimed in the meeting.
The source of discussion this time is the Schalke 04 centre-back Benedikt Howedes. The First Post believes an £8m offer for the centre back may be in the pipe line from the gunners. Which is believed to be adequate to persuade the German club to part with their inform player.
The Gunners manager is rumoured to believe that the 22 year old Benedikt Howedes, who has been described as a 'powerhouse' could provide extra height and strength to the north London's clubs modest defence.
Reports from Schalke suggest the club would be reluctant to part with 6ft 2in Howedes, who has played an influential role for the club this season.
However, the club are rumoured to be experiencing finical problems at the moment, and may be forced to sell their prize assets for maximum returns to Arsenal. This may well be in January, with the defenders contract set to end with Schalke at the end of the 2013/2014 season.
