Sven-Goran Eriksson hopes a deal to sign West Brom striker Ishmael Miller can be done this week.

Miller, who was at Manchester City when Eriksson was in charge at Eastlands, impressed the Swede during a reserve game against Chelsea at West Brom's training ground last week.

"I went to see him when Albion's reserves played Chelsea. He played for 45 minutes and scored twice. He was good. He has pace and power. He is the same as he was at Manchester City," said Eriksson.

He added: "It is still possible to take in at least one more, possibly two. If it is going to happen it will happen quickly. I hope it happens this week."

"When I first came here I watched a lot of games on video and live, and I thought pace is one thing we needed. We have taken in players with pace."
