The Daily Mail reported that Barcelona are considering selling Gabriel Milito to the two Premiership contenders.

The Daily Mail believes Barcelona 'will hope to get interest from the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Italian clubs' for the player. The 30-year old Argentinean defender has been unsuccessful in securing a place in Barcelona's starting line-up, with his future not looking set to change at the Nou Camp.

With the third place La Liga team looking set to call up the Spanish Under -21 defender Andreu Fontas from their B team, sources believe that Barcelona are looking for possible ways to raise finances in-order to provide the club with the opportunity to obtain new players, and Milito is currently being viewed as one possible sale option.

Milito fell out of favour at the Nou Camp while he was injured for a duration of almost two years, suffering from anterior cruciate ligament damage. During this time current Barcelona stars Gerard Pique and Carlos Puyol firmly secured their positions in the clubs starting line-up.

Speculation of Milito's move to Arsenal has only be fuelled by the news that the Gunners have money to spend in the January transfer window.
