Liverpool target Arda Turan’s agent has insisted the player will not be moving to the Premier League in favour of staying with Galatasaray.
Turan has been linked with a host of teams in the Premier League and has even been quoted as saying it would be a dream to move to the Merseysiders.
The 23-year-old has many admirers at Anfield and Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson has been rumoured to be preparing a bit in the January transfer window.
However, agent Ahmet Bulut has admitted the highly-rated Turkish midfielder is happy at Gala – where he is currently skipper.
“No, he will not be leaving Galatasaray, he will be staying. He is committed to the club,” Bulut said.
“He has three years remaining on his contract and it is impossible for him to leave. He is the captain of the team and very happy at the club. There is no doubt he will be staying.”
As well as interest from Liverpool, Tottenham reportedly had an offer rejected by the Turkish giants which included Giovani dos Santos moving in the opposite direction.
Harry Redknapp has been looking to bolster his squad for its first ever foray into the Champions League but was thwarted in his attempts to bring Turan to White Hart Lane.
Other teams linked include Premier League champions Chelsea and Emirates Stadium based Arsenal.
Chelsea had been linked in the summer but Carlo Ancelotti changed target to Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun and brought him to Stamford Bridge instead – although the Israeli is now injured for a significant period of time.
Arsene Wenger was also linked but has other targets in mind in other positions, most notably a goalkeeper with speculation he wanted to bring Pepe Reina to Arsenal.
