Redknapp relishes Inter success

Harry Redknapp believes no team in Europe will relish coming to White Hart Lane following Tottenham's stunning Champions League victory over Inter Milan.

Spurs were last night reborn as a force among the elite of the game following an incredible display of attacking football against the European champions. Their 3-1 win was their third in three Champions League home matches that have now seen them rack up 11 goals in total.

"We've gone away from home and played maybe too open at times in Europe but we've come back home and played open and really ripped teams apart," said Redknapp.

"We've had four goals, four goals, three goals. Anyone would know they've got a tough game if they come here."

Certainly, no right-back will want to be pitted against Gareth Bale, who for the second time in a fortnight tormented the man many consider to be the best in the business, Maicon.

Redknapp, who reiterated he had no intention of selling his prize asset, said: "What confidence you must have as a player when you can come and do that to people who are so highly rated.

"I don't think he needs to go anywhere else to play his football at the moment. Tottenham is the place he needs to stay."

Bale must surely be considered one of the best players in the world on current form but Redknapp was reluctant to compare the 21-year-old to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo.

"He's a different sort of player," said the Spurs boss, whose good day began when he learned he was to be warned but not charged over his comments regarding referee Mark Clattenburg after Tottenham defeat at Manchester United.

"Ronaldo's a fantastic player, amazing goalscorer. This kid is just improving, improving. He's just getting better and better."
