Dani Alves is yet to sign a new contract with his current club Barcelona, with reports suggesting Manchester City are preparing themselves for a sensational swoop on the World class right-back.
However, the star's representatives calmed these claims today stating: "Everything is moving slower than expected but we are moving forward."
The attacking right-back, who has long been a target for Manchester City, recently received a Ballon D'Or nomination. Alves joined Barcelona from Sevilla in 2008 and his contract only has 18 months left.
Rumours surrounding the player suggest he is happy at Barcelona and would like an additional 2 years on his current deal. However, issues have arisen over the player's salary.
Currently the Barcelona star is paid 3 million euros, and it is believed that Manchester City are willing to put in an offer around £30 million for the Catalan right-back.
Barcelona are concerned that Alves could follow former team mate Yaya Toure to Eastlands, where he currently earns £220,000-a-week.
