Reports have resurfaced that Liverpool are interested in Tottenham winger David Bentley.
Liverpool had previously been linked with a move during Rafa Benitez's tenure for the former Arsenal man, who has fallen down the pecking order at White Hart Lane since moving to Spurs for £17 million in 2008.
Caughtoffside.com is now reporting that Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson will attempt to lure the 26-year-old - who is now valued at around £8 million - to Anfield in the New Year as he looks to add more potent attacking options to his squad.
Liverpool owners NESV are expected to invest heavily in the squad in January, with numerous potential targets linked with moves to Anfield.
Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente and Bayern Munich forward Mario Gomez have been touted as future partners for Liverpool hero Fernando Torres, while Aston Villa's Ashley Young and Wigan flier Charles N'Zogbia's names have also reportedly caught the eye of Hodgson.
It has been widely reported that Hodgson will be provided with £25-35 million to spend on new recruits in January as he and NESV attempt to turn Liverpool into European giants once more.
