Bury boss Alan Knill has won the League Two Manager of the Month award for October.

The Shakers enjoyed a great run of form in October, picking up 13 points out of a possible 15 to move into the automatic promotion places.

The Shakers were lethal in front of goal scoring 12 goals during the month and recorded impressive away victories over Aldershot and Torquay.

Alan Curbishley, chairman of the npower Manager of the Month awards panel, said: "Alan Knill has done a fantastic job at Bury over the past few seasons and his side are again well placed in npower League Two.

"The Shakers continued their fine form from September into October, going unbeaten for the month."

Knill held off competition from Chesterfield manager John Sheridan, Cheltenham boss Mark Yates and Wycombe's Gary Waddock to win the award.
