Noel Hunt is poised to keep his place when Reading host Norwich at the Madejski.

Forward Hunt came into the side against Cardiff on Wednesday night, and despite being asked to play wide on the right, capped a bright performance with his first goal since August 2009.

Manager Brian McDermott is likely to keep faith with the attacking line-up from midweek with Hunt wide of two strikers in Shane Long and Simon Church.

The Royals are without winger Jimmy Kebe again due to the knee injury that has forced him to miss the last three games and Icelandic midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson, sidelined since mid-September with a hamstring injury, is still out.

Midfielder Andrew Crofts will be back in the Norwich squad.

The Wales international missed the 1-1 draw at Millwall through suspension and saw his replacement David Fox find the net on Tuesday night.

Manager Paul Lambert has a decision to make but is likely to hand Crofts a recall, although the player is one booking away from a further ban.

Left-back Stephen Smith picked up a hip injury last weekend so Simon Lappin should continue to fill in.

Fellow full-back Adam Drury (calf) is still missing while central defenders Zak Whitbread and Michael Nelson (both ankle) are also sidelined, although the latter has returned to training.

Midfielder Andrew Surman remains a casualty with a knee injury and Stephen Hughes is making good progress as he recovers from a recent ankle operation.

Reading are just a point outside the play-offs and victory on Saturday could see them leapfrog the Canaries.
