Schwarzer denies Magpies

Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer kept Andy Carroll and Newcastle at bay as the Magpies had to make do with a point at St James' Park.

The Australia international pulled off a string of fine saves, none of them better than the one which prevented Carroll's 52nd-minute volley from flying into the bottom corner, volley preserve his clean sheet.

Opposite number Tim Krul was also kept busy, mainly by Clint Dempsey, although he has his crossbar to thank for keeping out Moussa Dembele's 70th-minute volley.
