Chelsea squandered the chance to go five points clear at the top of the table as goals from Nedum Onuoha, Asamoah Gyan and Danny Welbeck gave Sunderland a shock 3-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Onuoha put the visitors ahead on the stroke of half-time with a wonderful individual goal and Gyan added the second early in the second half.

Welbeck set the seal on a dreadful Chelsea performance when he intercepted Ashley Cole's backpass in the 87th minute and coolly slotted home.
