The Russian star Renat Yanbaev has confirmed that Arsenal are watching him.
The defender went on to say he would love to move to the Emirates, and would even be willing to accept a pay cut.
The 26-year-old desires a move to the Premier League and is eager to play for Arsenal after becoming a possible target for the Gunners when he impressed Arsene Wenger over the summer.
However, the full-back is wary of his inability to secure a permanent place in the starting line-up of the Russian national side and sees a move to Arsenal as an opportunity to make a more pressing case.
To-date, Yanbaev has earned nine international caps and usually plays a minor role for the squad, missing out on selection for the friendly against Belgium last Wednesday.
Yanbaev believes this issue could negatively impact his chances of obtaining a work-permit and playing for Arsenal.
Yanbaev explained to the Daily Mail: "My agent told me there was interest from Arsenal, but that I didn’t have enough games for the national team.
"Advocaat (Russian manager) says he doesn’t see me at left back for the national team. I need to work hard and prove that I deserve a call-up.
"I’m willing to lose money for a move abroad. I want to play for a European club, but so far it hasn’t worked out."
